Trick or TREAT!!!

I know this is REALLY late but better late than never right! :D Obviously Halloween is a huge deal in our household. Always has been, always will be! I threw a party last year but tried to plan better and go bigger (but cheaper) this time. It was soo much fun! I sure love throwing parties :D First up came decorations! Those came earlier that month.

Since my house was already decked out, all that was left was to invite a bunch of our friends and get a spooky menu going! Here was my invite:

I found this cute little invite on a blog where I inputted my info and it created it for me! I liked it because it was simple, black and white and was cheap to print off a bunch! Here's the site:

Next came my favorite part... the food! I would've done more stuff if I wasn't trying to go super cheap but such is the life of a poor married college couple ;) Here's a picture of the whole set up!

Of course all the Halloween dishes were courtesy of my mom

Mr crazy eyes came up for duck hunting the same weekend and helped me out with last minute preparation!

First came mummy french bread pizza. I only made four mummies this time and cut them up at the party instead of before. Last year I cut them and tried to do a whole bunch of little mummies and it was cute but didn't work quite so well.

couldn't rotate it.. sorry!
Then I did a spider web bean dip! And by that I mean, re-fried beans with cheese melted on top and sour cream piped in the shape of a spider web. Bragging rights are Brian's for that one... I'm not very good at free hand things like that. The deviled eggs were a last minute addition to the menu... they were supposed to get spiders on them too but my darling husband nixed that idea and since they were for him (I had deviled eggs) anyways I figured 'Oh well!'

Next came some super easy cute little banana ghosts! I was supposed to have apple mouths too but forgot to save some of my mini marshmallows for teeth.

Then I made some pretzel 'bones' but they didn't hold their shape super well. I just served them with pizza sauce cuz that's my favorite and it looks like blood!

So we had snacks and of course we needed treats to go with them! First up, pumpkin rice krispie treats!

I really wanted to make a pumpkin dream cake to go on my cake stand but I didn't have the things I needed when I went to make it so I had to opt out and go for pumpkin cupcakes with cinnamon cream cheese frosting instead!

Last year I had a bit of trouble with my Frankenstein pudding cups and ended up with some funky Frankenstein mashed potatoes instead. Haha This year they were a success! The low calorie pudding was delicious! It didn't curdle! And I made enough! The picture doesn't do them great justice. It's hard to get the pudding in the cups without messing the sides. But I think they're cute nonetheless!

Last but not least we needed drinks! Water in the pitcher and some crystal light with dry ice in my super smokey punch bowl - props to Brian and Christopher for that one :D

So we had the decorations, the invites and the food! Now all that was left was the friends! We had about 18-20 people show up so it was crowded but we had rearranged our couches and brought in a bunch of chairs so it wasn't too bad! Here's a few of our lovely visitors. Thanks for coming everybody! It was a blast to have you! Wish I could do it more often! :D

My husband's a goober.... but I love him!

Happy Birthday Mom! And Happy Halloween Everybody!
