We've had some great times already this summer! And we're in for some more coming up here pretty soon! Elder Dustin comes home a week from Wednesday!!!! We're pretty dang excited! :D Can't wait to have that kid around again! However, we have had some fun in the mean time. The day I got back from California Christopher had been in IF dropping off some metal at the recycling center so we brought the truck he borrowed back to Victor and stayed there for the night. Then we came home but only for a few days because it was celebrate America time and that means CRAZY hours for Christopher. So we headed back up to Victor so he wouldn't have to drive and get even less sleep. That was just supposed to be for the weekend but ended up being until the following weekend for various reasons haha it was kind of crazy. I spent the days helping my mother in law get the yard and things ready for Zach's homecoming! It was great!
But anyways, Christopher's work (Huntsmans Springs) puts on a huge fourth of July celebration on whichever Saturday is closest. It's open to the public and boy do people come! They have a bunch of fair activities and stuff and then a super huge firework show. Its awesome! This year was a bit different and instead of being an all day thing they started at 4 and cut down on some of the day time entertainment so they could make the night show even bigger! Mr. Huntsman spoke about the cancer center and stuff then the Beach Boys played! It was great! Once it was dark enough there was a big firework show with choreographed music, including Lee Greenwood singing "I'm proud to be an American" just before/during the finale. They were seriously spectacular! Some of the best fireworks I've ever seen! I didn't get any pictures of the day because the weather wasn't so good at first and then my phone died. But you can see pictures of past years in past fourth of July posts
here or
here.
Tyson and Maddy came in to town for the celebration and it was so great to see them! I've missed these little cuties! We went on a hike one morning and they were great little sports. Seeing Sophie hike like it was no big deal, just going along singing and loving life was so inspiring. I even captured some of it on video so that if I ever try and say "I'm too out of shape for that again" I can watch it and get put in my place.

| Isn't it beautiful? The hike was just gorgeous! |
| She had so much fun! |
| Poor little Kaleb fell and had to wash a whole bunch of dirt off. Not that he minded the water! He LOVED the water! |
| I sure love this little guy, even if he won't smile for me! |
We also got some hot tubbing in while they were here because the kids love the water so much! I snapped some awfully cute pictures of Sophie and her Uncle Christopher.
After Tyson and Maddy left on Tuesday we stayed because we were going to go to a rodeo with some friends Wednesday. That didn't end up happening but our good friends the Owens's met us out in the valley for some camping that night. Then a GREAT day on the lake for the fourth of July that ended with some YUMMY Chinese food in Jackson (I know... very unAmerican of us. But it was delicious!)
| Our little "lonestar" fishing boat provided for a quite a fun day! We tried to make sure to get some pictures together instead of just with our husbands since its we won't always live near each other. |
| Christopher snapped this before we were ready and said this one is "how you really are" haha I'll let you be the judge! |
| Love this man! |
| Love these friends! |
| David caught a fish and they both tried to paddle us into cleaner water |
I didn't get any pictures in Jackson but by the time we got back it was
too late to go home and the next day we went shopping with Jenn and
Emma so it was Saturday afternoon before we got back to Rexburg (almost a
whole week later than expected). But we were just in time to celebrate
David's birthday! He chose pizza and the demolition derby to celebrate.
It was fun!
| Isn't he the cutest! |
| Love these fools :D |
Anywho, now its just killing time and having fun while we wait for our Elder and a whole bunch more fun with him! Its gunna be a blast! I sure can't wait to make some more memories in my flip flops and I hope anyone who reads this is making some of their own!
