"Life is better when you're laughing"

And boy did I do a lot of laughing this weekend! This labor day weekend, we had a second "family reunion" with just Christopher's immediate family.  Todd and Jennifer took us all to Yellowstone for some sight seeing. It was so nice to have Zach back with the family, he's hilarious and fun to have around. Also, Christopher and I shared a hotel room with Tyson, Maddy and their kids each night and it was seriously a blast! We joked around and giggled and it was like a big adult sleepover. To be honest, it might sound crazy but I loved it :D I just wish we lived closer/could afford to go visit more!
So, we drove out Friday night and saw a few things along the way, including Yellowstone lake, hot pots, a little lily pad pond, and old faithful. The night ended with a yummy dinner at a restaurant just across from the big geyser.
The lake was GORGEOUS! It was truly amazing. (I have a thing for lakes)

There were LOTS of cool hot pots all over the park of course.

So fun having these two together again!

Pretty neat! Bubba loved it! Sophie had her fingers in her ears because she thought it would be loud and hates loud noises haa
I know this is random but this chandelier was at dinner and I just thought it was so neat1 Not to mention it reminded me of Harry Potter :D My favorite!

We stayed at Yellowstone Lake Lodge that night. Its a cool old hotel in the middle of the park. And I mean old! Christopher always describes it as being like you're on the titanic. We woke up and had  DELICIOUS breakfast buffet (I literally ate enough for a couple of days!) I was full ALL day! Then we headed off to see more sites!
More hot pots were first on the list. Only bigger!

Lots of steam!

Love these brothers! <3 br="">

These were some of cooler hot pots we saw (not to mention biggest!!)
This wasn't even the biggest waterfall we saw but I think it was my favorite thing! (Or maybe tied with the lake) I just think it is the most BEAUTIFUL thing ever! :D

Finally got this guy smiling!

And I didn't even have to ask for a kiss :D

The view from the other way
This WAS the biggest waterfall we saw. And we hiked down so that we were right at the edge it spilled over. Tyson got a little nervous but I thought it was pretty cool!

There was even an awesome rainbow!

To get out of the park we drove over Bear Tooth Pass! It was pretty amazing! Gorgeous, gorgeous views! The boys had tons of fun but were making Jenn a little nervous. We even fed some chipmunks from the palms of our hands!
Love this man!
We drove over the pass and into Red Lodge, Montana. It was such a cute little town! I really enjoyed it! We stayed at a cool little resort and ate at this little pub. There was even a visit to an old fashioned candy shop (I do love candy shops!). We had another yummy breakfast (AMAZING blueberry crumb muffins) before heading to their little branch for church! Right after church we took off for Cody, WY , another awesome little town. We had lunch at Bubbas's, sort of celebrating Jenn's birthday. Then, we stayed at my favorite hotel! It was just this little but way nice place on the edge of town. After relaxing for a bit we drove to a damn just out of town and then a ways past it to grill up some hamburgers. The damn reservoir was beautiful (obviously there was LOTS of beauty on this trip).
The next day was our last day there and we explored the Buffalo Bill museum which is really 5 museums together (one about Buffalo Bill, one about Indians, one about guns, one with art and one with natural history of WY). It was too cool! It had been too long since I'd been in a museum. I definitely enjoyed it! It was neat and way interesting to see the history there. I definitely recommend it to anyone who finds themselves in the town of Cody.

It was a PACKED weekend! Full of a LOT of driving! But totally worth it! We got to see a ton, eat a ton (of really good food) and spend a lot of time together. I loved red lodge and cody, two places I've never been before or would have thought to go! I wouldn't mind going back to either places.  Anywho, Thanks again to Jenn and Todd for organizing such a great trip! We loved it and already miss everyone!

  2. Aww thanks girl! You're sweet. The chick at the hair school talked me into a red tint which I of course love but am now remembering why I stopped doing it because my roots always look grey to me when they come in! Even if noone else can see it!
