Little Guy In a Tie!

My good friend Kelsey is about to have a baby boy! I had the privilege of throwing her a baby shower here in Rexburg. It was tons of fun! But I'm a doof and only got pictures of the decorations and forgot to take some of the people :(  My theme was "Little Guy in a Tie" but I was on a super tight budget so you only see that in a few places. Hahaha and I couldn't have done it without our mutual friends helping me out either. I didn't make hardly any of the food.... Holly and Angela both brought the real food and I made popcorn and cake! haha  But anyways, here is how things turned out!
We had diapers set out for the girls to write funny/encouraging messages to Kelsey for her newborn late night diaper changes

And the girls also colored in some Alphabet pages to make the Little Guy's first ABC book
I found cute plates and things at the dollar store but did up the napkins to look like little bow ties (Wish I had a close up of those, they were adorable!)

This cake was my pride and joy! Our friend Sam is into cake decorating and helped me decorate my very first cake! The inside was just cherry chip (Kelsey's favorite box mix) but I made a vanilla buttercream to stack the layers with and Sam taught me the art of marshmallow fondant. It was soo fun! A lot of work, but FUN! I'm thinking I might need to get my own set of tools and really go to town with this!

My lovely husband helped me pop some fresh popcorn on the stove that morning that I served in simple little paper cones.

Here's a shot of the whole spread of DELICIOUS food that Holly and Angela saved my butt with :) I seriously could not eat for the rest of the day!
I know this is blurry but it was my cheap little favor. I got boxes from the dollar store and cut out scrapbook paper to stick on top. They were full of yummy cookies & cream kisses (because they were blue haha)

We also played a game where you had to name as many baby items from A to Z as you could in 2 minutes but I kind of goofed and didn't have a prize for the winner so it wasn't as exciting. Overall things were great, we had fun, and people got Kels lots of great things and I was happy to just be able to celebrate her and this new little guy they'll meet any day now! She has been the greatest friend to me while in Rexburg and I'm excited to get to meet him before we all take off on our next adventures away from here!
